British Virgin Islands: Water disruptions to occur in parts of territory June 4-5

Water disruptions will occur in parts of the British Virgin Islands 20:00 June 4 -05:00 June 5. Government sources have indicated that the disruptions are due to power shortages and the need to preserve water supplies. A list of affected areas is available here.

Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of water. Prolonged works may delay the restoration of supplies.

Advice

Stockpile water. Minimize nonessential use of water throughout the rationing period. Water quality may be poorer than normal after service resumes; run taps for a few minutes before use.
