Italy: Train crews in Lombardy Region will strike 03:00 Dec. 14-02:00 Dec. 15
Train crews in Lombardy Region, Italy, to strike 03:00 Dec. 14-02:00 Dec. 15. Rail service disruptions possible.
Event
Unionized Trenord workers in the Lombardy Region will strike 03:00 Dec. 14-02:00 Dec. 15. Trenord has clarified that the strike will only affect the staff on board the trains. Service will be guaranteed during the 06:00-09:00 and 18:00-21:00 time slots; the service guarantee applies only to trains scheduled to arrive within the covered time frames. Replacement buses will be provided between Cadorna Railway Station and Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), as well as between MXP and Stabio, in the event trains serving the airport are not operating during the labor action.
Regional, suburban, and long-distance rail services could experience disruptions during the walkout. Crowding is possible on services that do run. Elevated use of alternative means of transport, such as regional buses, taxis, or private vehicles, could prompt increased road traffic congestion. Residual rail disruptions are possible even after the strike ends as the train operator repositions rolling stock.
Advice
Confirm all train reservations and allow additional time for travel during the announced strike period. Arrange alternative transport in advance.
