Canada: Officials close national airspace to Russian aircraft as of Feb. 27

As of Feb. 27, officials in Canada have closed their airspace to all Russian aircraft until further notice. Authorities announced the measures to denounce ongoing Russian military operations in Ukraine.

Passenger and cargo flight schedules from Russia will almost certainly be disrupted for the duration of the airspace ban. Shipping and supply chain disruptions are likely. Other states in the Americas may follow suit in the coming days.
