Informational

Event

The Cairo Drinking Water Company has announced that a planned water outage will occur in several parts of Cairo 20:00 March 5-04:00 March 6 due to maintenance works. Affected areas include Elnahda Prison, Gamal Abd El-Nasir Street, Omar Ibn El Khatab, Qubaa, and the Republican Guard Training Center. Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, through the morning of March 6.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
