The 2022 Boao Forum for Asia will take place on Dongyu Island, Boao, Hainan Province, April 20-22. Foreign government representatives and officials from international organizations will attend the event. Dignitaries will arrive at either Haikou Meilan (HAK) or Sanya Phoenix (SYX) international airports.

Authorities have increased security throughout the region ahead of the meeting. Police may erect checkpoints in some areas; localized transport disruptions are likely near the event venue at Boao Forum hotel and nearby tourist destinations. Minor flight delays are possible at HAK or SYX as officials arrive for and depart the event. Security forces also typically ban heavy cargo trucks or vehicles carrying flammable or explosive materials on sections of the G98 and G222 highways near Boao during the event.
