A magnitude-6.5 earthquake occurred in Acre State, Brazil, at around 19:55 ACT June 7. The epicenter was about 108 km (67 miles) south-southwest of Tarauaca, Brazil. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 616 km (383 miles), and weak to light shaking was probably felt throughout Acre State in Brazil as well as far eastern Ucayali and far northern Madre de Dios regions in Peru. There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake; however, significant damage is unlikely.
