The collision took place on the corner of Werthfeldstrasse and Bottroper Strasse, both of which are currently closed; at least one person has died and around 39 others were injured. Police have also restricted traffic on Fahnhorststrasse and Sterkrader Strasse to facilitate their rescue, salvage, and investigative operations.
