Djibouti: Entry requirements eased for vaccinated travelers as of Sept. 29 /update 25
COVID-19 entry requirements in Djibouti eased for vaccinated travelers as of Sept. 29. Other restrictions remain in place.
Event
Authorities in Djibouti have eased entry requirements for vaccinated travelers. Vaccinated individuals no longer need to provide a negative PCR test on arrival. Unvaccinated travelers must show a negative result from a PCR test taken within 72 hours of boarding their flight.
Domestic Measures
Most businesses are operating; however, social distancing measures and other requirements to prevent the spread of the virus remain in force. Protective facemasks are mandatory in public places.
International Travel Restrictions
Unvaccinated travelers entering the country will also be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival and must wait at the port of entry until the results become available. Individuals who test positive will be placed in isolation; foreign travelers will be quarantined at their own expense in a hotel.
All Djiboutian nationals and foreign residents over the age of 18 who wish to travel outside of the country must produce a certificate verifying that they have been inoculated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine or that they are permanently or temporarily exempt from vaccination.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
Advice
Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions. Reconsider and reconfirm nonemergency health appointments. Plan for queues and delays at available shopping centers.
