Somalia: Suicide bombing in Wadajir District of Mogadishu, the morning Sept. 25, results in casualties /update 1

A suicide bombing took place at the gates of General Dhegabadan Training School near the Turksom Military base in Wadajir District of Mogadishu, morning Sept. 25. Initial reports indicate at least ten people have died, and several others were injured in the incident. Militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the attack. The bomber was reportedly targeting military recruits congregating at the facility.

Over the coming hours, a heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are likely near the blast site.
