Tight security likely at Aden Adde International Airport, Somalia after at least four mortar rounds reportedly land near airport Sept. 20.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain an elevated security posture near Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ) in Mogadishu after at least mortar rounds landed near the southern end of the airport on early Sept. 20. Reports indicate that the mortars were fired at around 12:30. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or disruptions to flight operations following the mortar attack. No group has yet claimed responsibility.

Localized transport and business disruptions will probably affect areas near the MGQ over the coming hours.

Avoid the impact site. Adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation.
