Officials have closed multiple road routes around the Cape Town Stadium Sept. 9 ahead of the start of the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament. Authorities will close multiple routes during the course of the event through Sept. 11. For a full list of road closures, please click here.
Security personnel will almost certainly be widely deployed near the stadium and on approaching routes during the course of the event. Ground travel disruptions are likely on roads leading to and from the Cape Town Central Business District (CBD). An increase in petty or opportunistic crime is possible, particularly in areas with lower police presence.
