Officials issue warning for overflowing dams in several areas of Eswatini, Dec. 18.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy issued a statement Dec. 18 warning of overflowing dams due to heavy rainfall during the ongoing rainy season. Impacted dams include Maguga (Komati River), Mnjoli (Black Mbuluzi River), and Lubovane (Usuthu River). The annual rainy season is forecast to bring sustained heavy rainfall through March. As such, further flooding of local dams and rivers is likely. Overflowing rivers could damage bridges and nearby roads.
