India: Activists to rally at Itanagar's Indira Gandhi Park April 1

Activists affiliated with the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) will rally at Itanagar's Indira Gandhi (IG) Park on April 1 to denounce alleged delays in the police investigation into the death of the Under Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission. An earlier demonstration over the same issue attracted thousands of participants on Feb. 28.

Authorities will likely monitor the rally and may move to disperse the participants if the event becomes overly disruptive. Isolated minor skirmishes between police and activists cannot be ruled out. Demonstrators may march along or block roadways, prompting localized transport disruptions.
