Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast nationwide through at least early March 16. Thunderstorms could be accompanied by strong wind gusts and lightning. On March 15, the Kuwait Meteorological Department issued a red (the higher level on a two-tier scale) weather warning for unstable weather through early March 16; scattered moderate-to-heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms may be accompanied by strong winds that could exceed 60 kph (37 mph). The strong winds may lead to rough seas along the coast and reduced visibility in places due to dust storms. Authorities will likely issue new alerts or update/rescind existing advisories as weather conditions change over the coming days.
Sustained heavy rainfall could trigger flooding in low-lying communities near rivers, streams, and creeks. Urban flooding is also possible in developed areas with easily overwhelmed or lack of stormwater drainage systems. Sites downstream from large reservoirs or rivers may be subject to flash flooding after relatively short periods of intense rainfall.

Hazardous weather conditions might cause flight delays and cancellations at airports in the region. Authorities may temporarily suspend port operations along the Persian Gulf coast if strong winds trigger hazardous sea conditions, impacting freight and passenger maritime traffic. Flooding could block regional rail lines; freight and passenger train delays and cancellations are possible in areas that see heavy rainfall and potential track inundation.
Localized business disruptions may occur in low-lying areas; some businesses might not operate at full capacity because of flood damage to facilities, possible evacuations, and some employees' inability to reach work sites.
