Emergency crews are continuing their response to an explosion at the C.Vale Cooperative on Independence Avenue (Avenida Independencia) in Palotina that left at least four people dead and several others injured; at least 27 additional people are unaccounted for. Preliminary reports indicate that a fire began earlier in the evening and caused the explosion. Authorities have reportedly extinguished the fire but continue to search for the missing people.
