Unionized workers associated with the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) will protest in front of the Ministry of Labor building in Athens at 12:00 Aug. 8. The purpose of the action is to press for reduced working hours, wage and pension increases, and an end to non-contract work. PAME acts as a coordinating organization for about 500 labor groups.
Heightened security and transport disruptions are likely in the area of the Ministry of Labor. While the demonstration is likely to remain peaceful, isolated clashes between protest participants and law enforcement are possible.
