Sao Paulo transport workers affiliated with the Sao Paulo Subway and Subway Workers' Union (Sindicato dos Metroviarios e Metroviarias de Sao Paulo) plan to stage a 24-hour strike on Oct. 3 to oppose plans to privatize the city's metro lines.
