Most service has been suspended at the facility as of the early evening of Sept. 7. The outage is also causing numerous knock-on cancellations as regional and long-distance trains alter routes to avoid Munich Central Station. Only diesel trains operated by Bayerische Oberlandbahn are continuing to operate normally through the station. While authorities indicate the outage will likely last through the evening of Sept. 8, disruptions could extend into the early hours of Sept. 9 as carriers reposition rolling stock and work through their passenger backlogs.
