Heightened security likely to continue in Dublin, Ireland, through Nov. 26 following violent unrest. Further disruptions possible.
Authorities maintain an increased police presence in Dublin as of early Nov. 24 and heightened security is likely to continue through at least Nov. 26. Violent protests, clashes with police, and rioting took place late Nov. 23 following an earlier stabbing incident that injured five people on Parnell Square. As of Nov. 24, authorities state that 34 rioters were arrested and one police officer was seriously injured. Some roads remain closed as businesses and local authorities clear up after the disruptions. Public transport services are likely to be suspended or diverted.
Increased security, as well as localized transport and business disruptions, are likely to continue over the coming hours. Further protests, clashes cannot be ruled out.
