Activists plan to stage protests in Bangkok, Feb. 1 to mark the third anniversary of the military coup in Myanmar. The following events are confirmed:
Pro-democracy group Milk Tea Alliance will gather at the United Nations Building from 10:00.
Activists led by National Alliance Bangkok will gather at the Embassy of Myanmar from 16:00.
Dozens to a few hundred people could participate in the actions.
Authorities will likely bolster security at the protest sites. Localized transport disruptions are possible, especially if activists occupy nearby streets. Clashes between demonstrators and security personnel cannot be ruled out, especially if activists attempt to bypass security barriers or defy orders to disperse.
