Mexico: Foreign national killed in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Feb. 9

A US national was killed on Feb. 9 in the resort town of Tulum, Quintana Roo. The incident occurred when unidentified individuals exchanged gunshots at the Mia Beach Club in Hotel Selina due to a dispute over drugs; according to investigators, the victim was not involved in the criminal activity and was simply caught in the crossfire. The shooting also killed a national of Belize, who was allegedly a drug dealer involved in the dispute. Authorities are continuing their search for the perpetrators.
