The environmental group Extinction Rebellion (XR) plans a protest at Maastricht Aachen Airport (MAA) from 12:00 on March 9 to demand the banning of private jets from the airport. Organizers will hold several speeches and non-violent activities in the area of the airport until 14:15. Several hundred people could attend. In previous events, law enforcement officers carried out multiple arrests. Similar attendance numbers and police tactics are likely on March 9.
