Greece: Anti-fascist groups to demonstrate at tax office in Volos March 6

Activists to protest at tax office in Volos, Greece, from 18:30 March 6. Heightened security, localized transport disruptions likely.

Warning

Activists affiliated with several unions and civil society organizations plan to protest at the tax office on Xenofontos Street in Volos from 18:30 March 6. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce a visit to city by the head of the right-wing Spartiates Party. It is unclear how many participants may attend.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely; demonstrators could also block access to the nearby Volos railway station. Clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or activists from rival political camps cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the protest area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the tax office on Xenofontos, including through Volos Railway Station. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
