Armenia: Activists to demonstrate in Yerevan April 8-10
Opposition activists plan to protest at National Assembly in Yerevan, Armenia, April 8-10. Tight security likely; clashes possible.
Opposition activists affiliated with the Together (Miasin) political movement plan to conduct daily protests at the National Assembly on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan from 17:00 April 8-10. The purpose of the demonstrations is to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. It is unclear how many participants may attend; however, a related rally on Feb. 29 appeared to draw several hundred participants.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration site. Clashes between protesters and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all demonstrations as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the National Assembly building during protest hours. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
