Ireland: Aer Lingus staff start work-to-rule strike nationwide June 26-July 2 /update 1

Unionized Aer Lingus pilots start work-to-rule strike across Ireland June 26-July 2. Flight cancellations likely.

Informational

Unionized pilots employed by Aer Lingus (EI) plan start a nationwide work-to-rule strike in Ireland June 26-July 2. The purpose of the labor action is to demand salary increases. The airline has announced plans to cancel 10-20 percent of its flights during the strike period in an effort to minimize the impact of the action.

Flight disruptions are likely through at least July 2. Operating flights may also face some delays. Lingering disruptions are possible after the strike ends as staff work to reposition aircraft and clear passenger backlogs.

Reconfirm flight arrangements and schedules if booked to fly on Aer Lingus during the work-to-rule action time frame. Do not check out of accommodations before reconfirming onward travel.
