Argentina: Aerolineas Argentinas pilot strike, protest planned for Buenos Aires called off as of late July 11 due to government-ordered conciliation /update 1
Planned Aerolineas Argentinas pilot strike, protest in Buenos Aires, Argentina, called off as of late July 11.
Unionized pilots flying for Aerolineas Argentinas (AR) affiliated with the Airline Pilots Association (Asociacion de Pilotos de Linea Aereas, APLA) have called off a strike and demonstrations planned for July 12 in the two commercial airports of Buenos Aires as of late July 11. The move came after the National Secretariat of Labor and Employment (Secretaria de Trabajo y Empleo de la Nacion) ordered mandatory conciliation; the industrial actions were planned as part of efforts to demand a pay increase. Demonstrations had been planned for Jorge Newbery Airfield (AEP) and Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE). Further industrial action is possible in the days following July 12 if negotiations between AR and the APLA fail.
Lingering flight disruptions are possible on Aerolineas Argentinas flights transiting through Buenos Aires on July 12 as the airline responds to the canceled industrial action.
Confirm all travel arrangements if booked to fly Aerolineas Argentinas July 12.
