Argentina: Bus workers plan to continue to strike in Cordoba through at least July 8

Bus workers plan to continue to strike in Cordoba, Argentina, through at least July 8. Disruptions likely.

Warning

Bus workers in Cordoba Province affiliated with the Automotive Transport Industry Workers Association (Asociacion Obrera de la Industria del Transporte Automotor, AOITA) have announced plans to continue striking until at least July 8. The announcement comes after no agreements were reached with some of the province's transport companies regarding the workers' salary demands. The action will likely lead to further disruptions to intercity bus services in the province. Workers have been on strike since July 5 and will meet again on July 8 to discuss whether to extend the action further.

Related protests are possible, though none have been confirmed as yet. Demonstrations could result in localized disruptions, and skirmishes cannot be ruled out. The walkout will likely result in increased traffic congestion and higher demand for alternative means of transport.

Reconfirm public transportation schedules if operating in the in Cordoba. Allow extra time to reach destinations. Avoid any possible protests.
