Social media reports indicate that security forces have fired tear gas and rubber bullets at participants. Rioters have also vandalized and damaged university property. Traffic disruptions and road closures are occurring near BRAC University and the surrounding Badda area. Several hundred people are participating in the protests to denounce reforms to the government job employment quota system. There have been no immediate reports of casualties.

Additional security force personnel will likely remain deployed in the area over the coming hours.
