Armed clashes reported in Tajoura District, Libya, as of late July 16; increased security, disruptions to transport and business likely.

Armed clashes between two rival militias are reported near Al-Ikhwa Clinic in Tripoli's Tajour District as of late July 16. Reports indicate that heavy machine gunfire and shelling were exchanged between the Rahbat al-Dur'a Battalion and members of the Shaheda Sabreya Battalion in the Tajoura District. Armed clashes were also reported in the vicinity of the junction of Heart Hospital in Tajoura. The clash reportedly left at least three people dead and one another injured. Security forces and associated armed groups have closed or restricted all routes in and out of the Tajoura District. Additionally, the security forces have forbidden all social media and mobile phone coverage in the area. Large mobilizations of armed groups were reported on the Coastal Road in the district.

Increased security and disruptions to transport and business operations are likely in the affected area over the coming hours until the situation normalizes.

Avoid locations impacted by clashes until the situation normalizes.
