Netherlands: Residual flight disruptions likely at Eindhoven Airport after IT outages temporarily halt flight operations at facility Aug. 28 /update 1

IT outages temporarily halt flight operations at Eindhoven Airport, Netherlands, Aug. 28; residual disruptions likely as flights resume.

Warning

Flight operations have resumed at Eindhoven Airport (EIN) as of the evening of Aug. 28 after authorities temporarily suspended flights at the facility due to IT outages at the Dutch Ministry of Defence. The disruptions reportedly caused the cancellations of more than 20 flights at EIN. Ministry of Defence officials asserted that there was no evidence to suggest that the disruptions were caused by "the actions of malicious people."

Residual flight disruptions are likely at EIN over the coming hours, especially in the event that airlines need to clear any passenger backlogs or reposition aircraft.

Reconfirm flight schedules if booked to travel via EIN through late Aug. 28. Strictly heed all instructions from authorities. Allow additional time for passenger processing.
