Somalia: Explosions at beverage kiosk in Mogadishu cause several casualties Aug. 17

Emergency services are responding after two explosions were reported at a beverage kiosk in Mogadishu's Daynile district Aug. 17. Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least 10 people have been killed and five others injured. No group has as yet claimed responsibility for the incident.

Officials will almost certainly maintain a heightened security posture in the affected as they continue their response and investigation. Evacuations of nearby fragilized buildings are possible. Associated localized business and transport disruptions are highly likely over the coming hours.
