Argentina: Unionized pilots launch a nationwide strike on Sept. 6
Aerolineas Argentinas pilots strike nationwide in Argentina through 14:00 Sept. 6. Reconfirm flights.
Unionized Aerolineas Argentinas (AR) airline pilots, affiliated with the Airline Pilots' Association (Asociacion de Pilotos de Lineas Aereas, APLA), launched a strike earlier on Sept. 6; the action is scheduled from 05:00-14:00. The strike is mostly affecting flights at Jorge Newbery Airfield (AEP) and Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) in the Buenos Aires region, the two busiest airports in the country. APLA members are demanding higher wages.
Flight delays and cancellations are likely to continue through Sept. 6. Disruptions are likely nationwide due to airlines' high connections in the Buenos Aires region.
If traveling on Sept. 6, reconfirm flight schedules. Strictly heed all instructions from authorities. Do not check out of accommodation until onward travel is confirmed.
