The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) party has called for district level protests across Punjab State Sept. 10-23. The action is to denounce the state government’s economic policies, including higher taxes and fees, as well as the removal of electricity subsidies. Organizers have called for sit-in protests in multiple cities including Ludhiana Sept. 10, Ferozepur Sept. 11, Fazilka Sept. 12, Moga Sept. 13, Sri Mukatsar Sahib Sept. 16, Bathinda Sept. 17, Mansa Sept. 18, Sangrur Sept. 19, Barnala Sept. 20, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Sept. 23.

While organizers have yet to announce specific times or locations for protests, gatherings are most likely at government buildings, public squares, political party offices, and prominent intersections. Dozens to a few hundred people could participate in related gatherings.
