Traffic disruptions are likely near Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) in Jalisco through the early afternoon of Oct. 3 due to demonstrators protesting near the facility. As part of an ongoing nationwide strike, at least 180 judiciary workers have gathered on the Guadalajara-Chapala highway, which officials report has affected traffic flow to the airport.
Authorities will almost certainly maintain an increased security presence in the area. Clashes between protesters and police are possible. Disruptions to air travel are possible, especially if airport or airline employees cannot reach GDL.
If booked to fly via the facility on Oct. 3, allow additional time to travel between the city of Guadalajara and GDL. Plan for alternative routes. Heed the instructions of authorities. Reconfirm flight schedules; do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
