Heightened security is likely near Caracol Beach and along Kukulcan Boulevard in Cancun through early October following a deadly shooting on Oct. 2. Reports indicate an unidentified man was shot and killed in Caracol Beach near Riu Hotel by two suspects who arrived and escaped on jet skies. Police pursued the suspects but they remain at large.

Officials said the victim was allegedly linked to previous crimes and was not a guest in the hotel. Police presence may limit access to certain roads and businesses, especially if the suspects are not detained.
