Turkiye: The Turkish Youth Union plans to demonstrate in Ankara, Nov. 2
Turkish Youth Union will lead a demonstration in Ankara, Turkiye, 14:00 Nov. 2. Heightened security, localized disruptions likely.
The Turkish Youth Union (TGB) will lead a demonstration on Selanik Caddesi in central Ankara at 14:00 on Nov. 2. The demonstration has been organized to denounce the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party); TGB and its supporters allege that the DEM Party is a front for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which Turkiye blames for the Oct. 23 terrorist attack in Ankara. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend; however, several thousand activists may participate.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site. Participants may march through the area, prompting road travel disruptions. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or opposed individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest sites. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the areas at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
