Argentina: Flight disruptions possible nationwide through early November amid protest actions related to pilot labor dispute

Airline pilots in Argentina likely to continue actions related to labor dispute through at least early November. Flight disruptions likely.

Warning

Sporadic flight disruptions are likely in Argentina through at least early November as airline pilots represented by the Airline Pilots' Association (Asociacion de Pilotos de Lineas Aereas, APLA) continue their campaign of action related to an ongoing labor dispute. APLA members have been striking at some training centers, thereby preventing airline pilots from renewing their licenses, which usually expire every six months. The action is reportedly producing an artificial pilot shortage at some airports around the country, consequently resulting in flight delays and cancellations. Affected airports include Jorge Newbery International (AEP) and Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) - both serving Buenos Aires - as well as Ambrosio Taravella International Airport (COR) in Cordoba.

Striking pilots could escalate their industrial action with little to no notice if the disagreement between management and labor leaders remains unresolved.

Contact air travel provider and reconfirm flights. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
