Police detain two suspects after deadly shooting in Terminal 2 of Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Nov. 8.
Police detained two suspects following a shooting incident at the entrance of Terminal 2 of Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) in Sao Paulo on Nov. 8. One person was killed and at least two others were injured in the shooting. The deceased victim was a businessman involved in investigations against members of the criminal organization Capital's First Command (Primeiro Comando da Capital, PCC); police believe he was directly targeted by the suspects. Some of the other victims were bodyguards of the deceased man. It remains unclear whether there were additional suspects involved in the shooting.
Flight disruptions are possible; heightened security and ground transport disruptions are likely to continue around the airport.
Avoid the area until police completely secure the scene and give the all-clear. Confirm flights.
