Finland: Unionized Finnair employees plan to strike nationwide on Dec. 9, 13

Unionized Finnair (AY) pilots plan to strike nationwide on Dec. 9 and 13. Members of the Finnish Air Line Pilots' Association (SLL) are demanding improved pay and pension benefits. As of Nov. 29, Finnair has canceled around 140 flights on Dec. 9 and 150 flights on Dec. 13. The two days of industrial action may also prompt disruptions on the intervening days Dec. 10-12.

The strike will prompt flight delays and cancellations during the affected period and in the hours after the end of the action. Striking workers may form pickets at airports, possibly prompting delays during check-in and security clearance operations.
