Unionized public transport worker strike remains possible in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US, as of early Nov. 8, amid ongoing negotiations
Unionized workers of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) have halted a strike initially planned for 00:01 Nov. 8 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, amid ongoing negotiations with city transit officials. If talks regarding improved wages and security fail, around 5,000 workers will join the industrial action. Authorities indicate that if the strike moves forward, it will affect most SEPTA services, except the Regional Rail.
Significant public transport disruptions are likely if the strike goes ahead. Private transportation may also be affected due to overcrowding. Higher-than-usual congestion in and around Philadelphia is also probable.
Confirm private transportation if operating in Philadelphia starting Nov. 8. Allow additional time to reach your destination in the city.
