Spain: Farmers to stage tractor demonstration in Valladolid Dec. 10
Farmers to hold tractor protest in Valladolid, Spain, from 10:00 Dec. 10. Increased security, traffic disruptions likely.
Farmers plan to conduct a tractor procession protest in central Valladolid from 10:00 Dec. 10. Agriculture unions and associations from across the Castilla y Leon region will converge on the city to denounce the EU-Mercosur trade agreement with South American countries. The convoy of vehicles will start at 10.00 at the Jose Zorrilla Stadium and head to the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock building. Several hundred farmers may take part in the event.
Heightened security is likely in the affected area. The slow-moving vehicles will probably cause significant congestion in central Valladolid. Transport disruptions are also expected on major roadways in and around the city as participants arrive and depart.
Avoid the convoy route as a standard precaution. Allow additional time for travel in central Valladolid during the day and for travel on major roads around the city. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
