Germany: Partial systems outage resolved at airports nationwide Jan. 3 /update 1
Partial systems outage resolved following earlier customs disruptions at airports across Germany Jan. 3; residual disruptions possible.
Authorities have confirmed that an earlier partial systems outage that affected airports across Germany has been resolved as of the evening of Jan. 3. The technical issue reportedly disrupted the Federal Police's information systems used for immigration controls, creating long lines and other disruptions at airports across the country, including at Dusseldorf (DUS), Dortmund (DTM), Frankfurt (FRA), and Cologne Bonn (CGN) airports.
While most related disruptions have likely abated, customs clearance disruptions are possible over the coming hours as airports work to clear any residual backlogs.
Confirm flight schedules. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Arrive at the airport early and allow extra time to clear customs.
