According to Dutch military police, the suspect entered an office in the Schiphol Plaza shopping area and threatened an officer with a knife. Police officers shot the man in the leg and arrested him. Security officials announced that the suspect is known to the authorities and that they do not believe the incident is terror related. The area around the shooting has been closed off to the public, but the rest of the airport is functioning as normal.
