Argentina: Hospital staff strike in Buenos Aires province April 5

The Trade Union Association of Health Professionals of Buenos Aires province (CICOP) is planning to hold a 24-hour strike on Thursday, April 5. During the strike, hospitals may offer only critical care and longer-than-normal waiting times are possible in all medical facilities; non-emergency cases may be turned away and scheduled doctor's appointments may be canceled. A related demonstration is expected to take place on April 5 in front of the Government House in the provincial capital La Plata. Additional protests could be held throughout Buenos Aires province, including in the city of Buenos Aires.
