Greece: State of emergency declared following cyclonic storm /update 3

Event

A state of emergency was declared on September 30 for parts of the regional units of Corinthia (Peloponnesian region), Evia, Phthiotis (Central Greece region), and Sporades (Thessaly region) following the passage of a Medicane storm. Heavy rain and strong winds caused flooding in these areas, along with severe transportation disruptions. Two individuals have been reported missing as of October 2. Further moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in central and western parts of Greece October 3-4.
