Warning

Event

The CGT union is calling for four more days of strikes by workers of state train operator Renfe between July 31 and September 1. As of Monday, July 15, work stoppages between 12:00-16:00 and 20:00-23:59 (local time) are planned for July 31, August 14 and 30, and September 1. Significant rail service disruptions are anticipated if the strikes are held. At least 320 trains were canceled on July 15 during an associated industrial action, impacting thousands of passengers despite efforts to provide above minimum service. Further strikes are also possible in the coming weeks and months if the unions' demands are not met.

Advice

Individuals in Spain are advised to keep abreast of the situation, verify rail timetables, and use alternative means of transportation when necessary.
