Spain: Traffic warning issued for Spain-France border crossing August 23-26

Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic issued a warning to drivers, who should expect significant delays at the border crossing in Pais Vasco between France and Spain from Friday, August 23, to Monday, August 26. The delays will be due to the G7 Summit taking place in Biarritz, related demonstrations, and peak vacation traffic.

Groups of political activists are planning to hold large demonstrations in and around Biarritz during the G7 summit from Saturday, August 24, to Monday, August 26.

Associated traffic disruptions, including longer travel times, and heightened security measures are to be expected over this period. Delays should be expected in both directions.

Individuals in the affected areas are advised to monitor developments to the situation, allow additional travel time, seek alternate routes, and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities.
