Spain: Marches scheduled in Andalusia November 14

General Union of Workers to hold marches across Andalucia on November 14; transportation disruptions likely

The General Union of Workers (UGT) of Andalusia has called for a general strike in several cities on Thursday, November 14, to mark the day for the dissemination and promotion of the Interconfederal Mediation Service and Arbitration. As the union represents a variety of sectors, a diverse turnout is expected. Protests are scheduled in Almeria, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga, and Sevilla.

The strike in Granada will begin at 18:00 (local time) at the Plaza del Triunfo and will proceed via Gran Vía, Reyes Católicos, Puerta Real, and Carrera de la Virgen, finishing at the Paso de la Bomba.

In Malaga, participants will gather at Alameda Colon at 19:00 and proceed via Alameda Principal, Plaza de la Marina, Paseo del Parque, Plaza del General Torrijos, Túnel de Gibralfaro, and calle Santa Ana to reach Plaza de la Merced.

Participants in Sevilla will gather at 13:00 at Avenida Menendez Pelayo and end at Gorieta de San Diego.

Associated transportation disruptions are expected in the vicinity of the protests and marches.
