Somalia: Ongoing security incident at Mogadishu prison August 10

Gunfire was reported inside Mogadishu's Central Prison on Monday, August 10, amid an ongoing security incident at the site. Unconfirmed reports suggest that an unknown number of inmates were able to seize weapons from prison guards, sparking a firefight with security forces. Several explosions have also been reported although the number of casualties from the incident is yet to be confirmed.
