Demonstrators and counter-demonstrators will gather in Hanover (Lower Saxony state) on Saturday, September 12, as part of rallies linked to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) restrictions. Demonstrators denouncing COVID-19 restrictions will reportedly gather at 13:00 (local time) at Waterlooplazt and at 15:30 at Georgsplatz. Two counter-demonstrations are scheduled at the same time and locations. Authorities have expressed concerns over right-wing extremists infiltrating the demonstrations. 

A heightened security presence, as well as localized transportation disruptions, are expected near all demonstrations.
